Breaking: Bernie Has Done It! 6,800miles Complete on the ADT!
Bernie Krausse becomes one of the few to conquer the entire American Discovery Trail - a 6,800 mile coast-to-coast route from California to Delaware.
At 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, Triple Crowner Bernie Krausse joined the elite group of long-distance hikers who have conquered hiking's "Grand Slam" - the 6,800-mile American Discovery Trail.
In 2022, Bernie completed the ADT Southern Route on December 8 after a seven-and-a-half-month journey from California to Delaware.
This year, he returned to the Denver, Colorado, area to complete the ADT's Northern Route. On June 22nd, he began hiking from the ADT junction in Sheridan, Colorado, and arrived at the ADT junction in Elizabethtown, Ohio, less than two months later.
1,811 miles in 53 days — an average of 34.2 miles a day!
