An Hiking America Subscription, whether monthly or annually, includes full access to two sets of navigational tools for the American Discovery Trail.
- Turn-By-Turns and Maps with Hiker Notes downloadable in a PDF format, and
- Those same Turn-by-Turns with Hiker Notes in digital form are shared on the Gaia GPS app.
First, about Gaia GPS
Gaia GPS comes in both a Free version and a Premium version for $39.99/year (or $99.99/year if you include an Outside+ membership).
The difference between Gaia GPS Free and Premium is the number of map layers you can access.
The Free version comes with Open Street Map, Gaia Topo, and a couple of other layers. The Premium version includes a mind-blowing assortment of map layers, from USGS Topo and Nat Geo Trails to Cell Coverage, Snow Cover, and even wildfire maps. It is a fantastic collection. And with the Gaia GPS Premium, you can also download the maps to your device for offline use.
It is a powerful, customizable tool that helps jumpstart planning for an American Discovery Trail adventure! This is why we have been building Hiking America exclusively for Gaia GPS.
Now about Hiking America on Gaia GPS
